Escape from the city.... Chagford, Devon.

After a hectic month settling in to my new role at Bristol Uni I managed to escape down to Chagford, a village right next to Dartmoor National Park to visit my parents. If you haven't had the joy of visiting the depths of the West Country before I suggest you pack your bags and get down there ASAP! The countryside and the moors are beautiful; perfect for long walks pre-pub.

I had an awesome time, loads of tasty food, drinks at the Ring O'Bells, walks on the moor, cream teas and even a trip to the Dartmoor Pony Auction with my Dad! Unfortunately we didn't buy any (my inner 12 year old was so sad!), but we were surprised to find out that a foal sold for around £20!

The weather was pretty rubbish but it was still nice to get outside after such a long time in the city. My Paramo coat kept me warm and dry - I can't recommend them enough!

I had to carry a hefty amount of outdoors kit back on the train for the next few weekends so I didn't take my camera. I took what I could on my iphone!
